I am from Madrid, Spain. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Anglo Germanic Philology and a Master's degree in Spanish Linguistics from Georgetown University. I have taught at prestigious institutions in Spain, Ecuador, the United States of America (Harvard and Georgetown Universities) and Germany.

I have extensive experience in the educational system: all levels of Spanish from A1 to C2 and all ages from children to adults. I am also highly experienced in teaching a diverse student body from different cultures so I have a deep understanding of the main areas of linguistic and communication difficulties students encounter when trying to learn Spanish.

My methodology ensures a balance of activities and exercises to develop language structure, vocabulary and pronunciation, as well as key skills so students learn to interact effectively in different environments (business, academic, social, traveling, etc.).

I place a big emphasis on communication tasks which give learners the opportunity to practice fluency and build confidence in real-life situations.

All my courses are designed to be adaptable to my learners’ individual goals and needs.

“He tenido Profesora Norma por 2 cursos este semestre, y he disfrutado cada clase. Norma es una profesora quien pide bastante de sus estudiantes, y aprenden mucho, mientras disfrutando un ambiente de buen humor. Norma es una profesora genial y una mentora buena y recomiendo que mas estudiantes apunten en sus cursos!

I have had Norma for 2 courses this semester, and I enjoyed every day. Norma is a professor that asks enough of her students, and in turn they learn a lot, while still enjoying an atmosphere of good humor. Norma is a great professor and close mentor, and I recommend that more students sign up for her courses!.”
